- Associates
- Associated Organisations
- Contact Details
- Missing Persons
- Offence History
NPRS Vehicles Project
The National Police Reference System (NPRS) Vehicles Project is a constituent project of the NPRS Programme.
The project’s intent is to improve the information exchange and enhance the accessibility and capability of the existing national vehicle systems of National Vehicles of Interest (NVOI) and National Exchange of Vehicle and Drivers Information System (NEVDIS) by amalgamating this information with persons of interest information in the National Police Reference System.
The project is expected to deliver the following business outcomes to Australian policing by improving:
- Exposure and searching of NEVDIS data by increasing the range of fields that can be searched on plus wildcard and fuzzy search;
- Exposure to stolen recovered and wanted vehicles information from NVOI;
- Establishment of relationships and links between vehicles, drivers and persons of interest from a national level;
- Identification of persons of interest through vehicle and drivers licence information; and
- Identification of stolen and wanted motor vehicles.
The NPRS Vehicles Project intends to:
- Improve connectivity between systems and all police jurisdictions to enhance information sharing access;
- Integrate national vehicle and drivers licence searches with national persons of interest records; and
- Transition all users of NVOI and NEVDIS into the new NPRS Vehicles system.
