The Child Exploitation Tracking System (CETS) is a unique software tool developed in partnership with international law enforcement experts and Microsoft to help police battle on-line child exploitation. CETS was created to increase the effectiveness of investigators and teams by providing them with software to store, search, share and analyse large volumes of evidence and match cases across police agencies. Previously, investigators had to manually sort through files and photographs, making it challenging to analyse the large volume of information gathered during investigations.
The CETS technology allows the creation of a virtual investigations team, where police officers across the country can share and analyse information about suspected offenders, avoiding duplication of investigative effort and establishing a national approach that will improve opportunities to identify and locate children at risk and reduce exposure to large quantities of child exploitation material.
