Sharing national policing information for a safer community
The CrimTrac Executive is responsible for the high-level management of the Agency. At 6 September 2011, the CrimTrac Executive consisted of:



The Chief Executive Officer is appointed by the Minister for Home Affairs and Justice on the recommendation of the CrimTrac Board of Management. He reports to both the Minister and the CrimTrac Board.
The CEO provides executive leadership and direction for CrimTrac, and is also responsible for leading joint-venture partnerships between CrimTrac and Australia’s police agencies.
The Chief Executive Officer must ensure that all CrimTrac operations comply with relevant commonwealth, state and territory laws. He has the powers and responsibilities of an agency head defined in the Public Service Act 1999.
The Deputy CEO is responsible for corporate operations. He provides support to the agency in the a broad range of non-ICT functions such as finance, human resources, security, communication, governance and audit, as well as National Police Checking Services.
The Chief Information Officer is responsible for leading the delivery of national information sharing services to Australia’s police agencies, and for managing the implementation of business (ICT) solutions for CrimTrac.
